Charting trips

Taking a break for a day from cyclocross to give a couple of props. Aaron Teasdale and Cass Gilbert were over at the blog photographers house a couple of weeks ago talking cycling. Aaron just had an article published in Mountain Bike that showed up in my mailbox today. The article deals with "bikepacking"...mountain bike style. Basically, multi-day trips on single track with minimal gear for camping and living.

Cass left Missoula a week and a half ago, headed to Argentina, using the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route...at least to the Mexican border. Needless to say, he hit some big snow. As hard as racing cyclocross can be, the kind of touring that Cass does can be just as taxing. He doesn't let a little (or a lot) of snow stop him at all. Check it out here. Be sure to scroll down to the October 4 day when he stopped in at Hellgate Cyclery.
