Rapha

So I've been throwing some photos up the last few days of the Rapha Continental crew. Click on the link to see what they are about. Ben Ferencz from Freeman Transport "hosted" the group. I put the "hosted" in quotes, because while Ben brought them to Missoula and lined the whole thing up, the group stayed with the Hellgate Cyclery blog photographer. Nine folks stayed at the villa for a couple of nights and it couldn't have been more enjoyable. The blog photographer has been admiring photography from Rapha for a number or years, and was honored to be able to photograph them. As well as to shoot alongside a nationally acclaimed bicycle photographer, Chris Milliman, who flew in from the east coast to shoot a couple of the rides. You can see a few more images from the blog photographer here.

  1. Terrific photos. You captured the essence of the event - the sense of place, the weather, the somewhat quirky nature of a ride that isn't exactly a race or a tour.

I've followed all things Rapha for a while, and served as ride host for a Continental ride last month. Some of my own images from my Continental ride, most made with me on the bike or standing over the top tube, are here: (http://icyclist.blogspot.com/2009/07/rapha-continental-navajo-land-part-two.html -

  2. Thanks for the comments Dave. I enjoyed looking at your images as well. It was a ton of fun shooting those folks....and it's the kind of riding I like to do as well.
